The Human Nature – the need of theories.

Seven theories are given there: Plato, Christianity, Marx, Freud, Sartre, Lorenz and Skinner. I’ll use some citations from the book. It is a little old one (1974) but not older than the Plato’s theory, par example.

***

“(…) The Bible sees man as created by a transcendent God who has a definite purpose for our life. “The real nature of man is the totality of social relations”, said Marx (…) Marx denied the existence of God and held that each individual is a product of the human society that lives in. “Man is condemned to be free”, said Sartre, writing in France in the 1940s. Sartre denied the existence of God, but also denied that we are determined by our society or by anything else. He held that every individual is completely free. To decide for himself what he wants to be and do.
Peter Pan - Somewhere Out There.

Somewhere out there,
Beneath the pale blue night,
Someone’s thinking of me,
And loving me tonight.
Somewhere out there,
Someone’s saying a prayer,
Then we’ll find one another,
In that big somewhere out there.

And even though I know how very far apart we are,
It helps to think we might be wishing
On the same bright star,
And when the night will start to sing
A lonesome lullaby,
It helps to think we’re sleeping underneath the
Same big sky.

Somewhere out there,
If love can see us through,
Then, we’ll be together,
Somewhere out there, out where dreams, come

The Ice Hotel

Ice Hotel Québec – Canada is one of the two ice hotels in the world. The other one, being in Sweden.

The Ice Hotel opened its curtains (for doors) during the winter in 2001, but as happens every year, the ice hotel is fated for an annual rebirth. Under the warming sun of early April, it slowly melts away like Dorothy's witch, only to come to life again the next winter.

The construction of the Ice Hotel, one of the most uncommon and complicated construction projects, takes approximately five weeks. At least 12,000 tons of snow and 400 tons of ice are used in the creation of this amazing ice and snow crystal cathedral. It's total surface of 3,000 sq m (30,000 sq ft), is more than enough space to accommodate, besides the guests, a large number of visitors.

The Ice Hotel officials claim that the hotel is almost always fully booked. Guests spend the night in one of the 32-cosy rooms and theme suites, which can accommodate some 80 persons. Rooms are furnished with an ice slab for a...

The numbers

The numbers we all use (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.) are known as "arabic" numbers to distinguish them from the "Roman Numerals" (I, II, III, IV, V, VI, etc). Actually the arabs popularized these numbers but they were originally used by the early phonecian traders to count and keep track of their trading accounts.

Have you ever thought why ........ 1 means "one", and 2 means "two"?
3D Room Optical Illusion

These 3D Room Optical Illusions are a very cool effect. When viewed from the right angle they produce amazing visual effects. These designs are generally created using light to portray the image across the many surfaces. They can then be painted using the light/shadows as a guideline of where to paint.

These are spectacular illusions and can be done on any surface in and any area. I have seen them on harbors, rooms, city blocks ect. Enjoy

Victor Vasarely

Victor Vasarely (1908-1997 – Hungarian French) is widely regarded as the father of Op-Art.

During the 1960’s and 70’s his optical images became part of the popular culture, having a deep impact on architecture, computer science, fashion, and the way we now look at things in general. Even though he achieved great fame he insisted on making his art accessible to everyone. His motto was “Art for all”.

Op art (optical art), is a genre of visual art, that makes use of optical illusions. Op art is also known as geometric abstraction and hard-edge abstraction, although the preferred term for it is perceptual abstraction.

ABBA : THE WAY OLD FRIENDS DO

You and I can share the silence
Finding comfort together
The way old friends do
And after fights and words of violence
We make up with each other
The way old friends do
Times of joy and times of sorrow
We will always see it through
Oh I don't care what comes tomorrow
We can face it together
The way old friends do

You and I can share the silence
Finding comfort together
The way old friends do
And after fights and words of violence
We make up with each other
The way old friends do
Times of joy and times of sorrow
We will always see it through
Oh I don't care what comes tomorrow
We can face it together
The way old friends do

We can face it together

ABBA - The day before you came

I must have left my house at eight, because I always do
My train, I'm certain, left the station just when it was due
I must have read the morning paper going into town
And having gotten through the editorial, no doubt I must have frowned
I must have made my desk around a quarter after nine
With letters to be read, and heaps of papers waiting to be signed
I must have gone to lunch at half past twelve or so
The usual place, the usual bunch
And still on top of this I'm pretty sure it must have rained
The day before you came

I must have lit my seventh cigarette at half past two
And at the time I never even noticed I was blue
I must have kept on dragging through the business of the day
Without really knowing anything, I hid a part of me away
At five I must have left, there's no exception to the rule
A matter of routine, I've done it ever since I finished school
The train back home again
Undoubtedly I must have read the evening paper then
Oh yes, I'm...

Agnetha Fältskog - My love my life

I've seen it on your face
Tells me more than any worn-out old phrase
So now we'll go separate ways
Never again we two
Never again, nothing I can do

Like an image passing by, my love, my life
In the mirror of your eyes, my love, my life
I can see it all so clearly
(See it all so clearly)
Answer me sincerely
(Answer me sincerely)
Was it a dream, a lie?
Like reflections of your mind, my love, my life
Are the words you try to find, my love, my life
But I know I don't possess you
So go away, God bless you
You are still my love and my life
Still my one and only

I've watched you look away
Tell me is it really so hard to say?
Oh, this has been my longest day
Sitting here close to you
Knowing that maybe tonight we're through

Like an image passing by, my love, my life
In the mirror of your eyes, my love, my life
I can see it all so clearly

HEALTH ALERT -- DANGEROUS NEW VIRUS

There is a dangerous virus being passed around electronically, orally,
and by hand.

This virus is called Weary-Overload-Recreational-Killer (WORK).
If you receive WORK from any of your colleagues, your boss, or anyone
else via any means DO NOT TOUCH IT.

This virus will wipe out your private life completely.

If you should come into contact with WORK, put your jacket on and take
two good friends to the nearest grocery store.

Purchase the antidote known as Work-Isolating-Neutralizer-Extract
(WINE) or Bothersome-Employer-Elimination-Rebooter (BEER) .

Take the antidote repeatedly until WORK has been completely eliminated
from your system.

You should forward this warning to 5 friends. If you do not have 5
friends, you have already been infected and WORK is controlling your
life.

And there may no longer be a cure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
