for everyone
Victor Vasarely (1908-1997 – Hungarian French) is widely regarded as the father of Op-Art.

During the 1960’s and 70’s his optical images became part of the popular culture, having a deep impact on architecture, computer science, fashion, and the way we now look at things in general. Even though he achieved great fame he insisted on making his art accessible to everyone. His motto was “Art for all”.

Op art (optical art), is a genre of visual art, that makes use of optical illusions. Op art is also known as geometric abstraction and hard-edge abstraction, although the preferred term for it is perceptual abstraction.

Thank you very much, my sweet friend!
What I find very important is that he has not computer where he created this 3D abstractions, only with the 2D canvas, simple geometric figures and a lot of imagination.
Much love to you, my friend!

The way the eyes work, there's so much to that. I can't believe he did these on a canvas. Seems that this sort of thing is so easily cranked out these days on a computer and I know that now I am used to seeing this sort of thing. It reminds me of these old textbooks I'd use in school back in the 80s, so I guess I just grew up with it. Very cool and fun to look at! Thanks so much for sharing these pieces of art.:)

You are right, Ben. We are very used to these images nowadays and we forgot that it wasn’t like this before. Vasarely was the first to see the things in this was and because of his work now we are so used to this images. I know that now it is very easy to create those forms using the computer. His work is very important for the contemporary Architecture.
Thank you very much for your comment, Ben!
