Frida was born in Norway at the end of the Second World War and the German occupation of Norway. Her father is a German soldier. 18 months after her birth, she left Norway with her grandmother because of fears of reprisals from people vengeful toward those that deals with the Germans during the occupation. They immigrated in Sweden. Her mother soon joined them but less than two years after Frida was born, her mother died. Frida was raised by her grandmother alone.
They believed that her father was died also but many years ago, when Frida became famous and her biography well known, she discovered that he was alive and they meet each other again.
But she have talent and she started to sing very young. At the age of 11 she made her stage debut. Very young, she met her first husband. They have two children – son and daughter.
In 1970 she worked with Benny and also with Bjorn and Agnetha. After that the two couples married and ABBA was created. I won’t speak about ABBA – the group is very famous. I would like to speak about Frida now.
1981 Benny and Frida divorced. And 1982, it is the end of ABBA. Next years was an unsettled period for her. She tried to establish career her own. It is not very successful period.
In 1986 she established in Switzerland. There she met, and married to a Prince. And she became a Princess. What I find amazing is that a little orphan, hated by her compatriots because of being a “child of War”, made all this way to become a Princess…. I think that one day Hollywood will make a movie for her.
As I mentioned below, the Prince died and her daughter also. Today, Frida is engages in charity work – environmental issues in particular…. She don’t have many public actions.
Maybe I should speak more about her albums and songs… she merit this. But there is so much to be said about this….. I just tried to catch the essential of her biography.
